Samir Tayob
Managing Trust Counsel
Samir is Senior Vice President, Managing Trust Counsel at Commerce Trust, where he is responsible for all legal matters for the organization. He leads the internal legal staff, which counsels the Commerce Trust senior executive team and professional staff on issues related to the organization’s private bank, private client and wealth management services, as well as other strategic planning matters.
Samir is also responsible for all legal and compliance issues for Commerce Financial Advisors, the brokerage subsidiary of Commerce Bank. Prior to joining Commerce Trust in 2022, Samir served as Regional Fiduciary Officer for Bank of America Private Bank. In this capacity, he led fiduciary policy oversight in support of client teams in Ohio, Missouri and Kansas. Samir also was named a Diversity and Inclusion Champion for the firm’s Office of the Chief Fiduciary group. Previously, Samir held the position of Associate Counsel at Edward Jones Trust Company.
He earned Juris Doctor and Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degrees from St. Louis University. In addition, Samir serves on the board of directors for the Central Institute for the Deaf.
